Garden Buildings
Blackmore Timber Engineering manufacture bespoke garden rooms, home offices and studios to building regulations standards. They are not just insulated sheds but the same specification as a house enabling them to be used as extra accommodation or provide a warm dry office with minimal heating requirements.
Typical Specification
Being Bespoke we will happily work to any design the client wishes but typically our garden buildings are manufactured to the following specification:
Walls - 98mm CLS studs (or 140mm if extra insulation required), 9mm OSB sheathing, breather membrane, 25mm cavity, external cladding of clients choice.
Roof - pitched or flat, flat ceiling or full height into roof, minimum 150mm insulation.
Floor - 150mm timber joists with insulation between joists, chipboard floor deck.
Finishing Materials
We can design for a number of exterior and interior finishes, including:
External walls - treated softwood (planed or sawn), Western Red Cedar, cement board with thin coat render.
Internal walls and ceiling - Fully plastered, plasterboard with taped joints, timber cladding.
Windows - double glazed timber or uPVC
Insulation
Depending of the required thermal performance various insulation materials can be incorporated into the building including: polyurethane foam, mineral wool, sheeps wool and recycled plastic.
